CONFERENCE GOALS
The International Scientific Conference on "The strategies for
sustainable development in the EU-countries and in its neighboring countries," is the third
economic conference at Polonia University at Czestochowa.
The goal of conference is to assure that a high level of
social-economic development, environmental protection, and initiative promotion exists not only
within European countries. The initiatives contained within the strategy for sustainable
development in the EU concentrate on the challenges of these key dimensions:
- Economic: a sustainable transportation system; a globally economy etc.;
- Social: the public health risks; demographics, migration etc.;
- Ecological: the climatic changes and clean energy; the environmental management etc.
These problems are interconnected, and therefore, the solutions
must be complex-oriented. Even though Europe generally applies the best procedures, it is still
necessary to guard against any negative tendencies; and decidedly, it is important to strive to
make the changes that occur in the social, economic life better by discovering new, sustainable
methods that increase economic growth while considering the ecological and social issues.
Since it is, also, the goal of the Conference to present the current implementation
status of the strategies, both, in the countries of the EU and of its neighbors, the conference
will discuss and try to answer the following questions:
- What are the measures that have been taken to aid sustainable development within the countries
of the EU? (macroeconomic perspective)
- What are the innovative solutions that are used or should be used by: enterprises; public
administration; and local council entities to aid sustainable development? (microeconomic
perspective)
- What are the research problems that the scientific research centers should deal with to aid
sustainable development?
